Hydraulics
Courses focusing on fluid mechanics, especially its parts hydrostatics and hydrodynamics, including flow in pipes and open channels. Fundamental research in fluid mechanics, optimization of the hydraulic function of specific hydraulic structures and facilities using mathematical and physical modeling.
Hydrology
Theoretical courses aimed at understanding partial hydrological processes in relation to the water cycle, and basic knowledge of meteorology and climatology. Practical courses dealing with the mathematical description and parameterisation of selected hydrological processes. Basic and applied research using monitoring of natural and urban catchments.
River engineering
Study focused on river engineering and stream morphology together with technical solutions in the design, optimization and operation of watercourses. Fundamental research in river mechanics. Assessment of watercourse operations, flood control measures and water courses design.
